Assessment Criteria:
LEVEL 4:
- Distinctive sections – show changes in mood &
successful story line
- Successful themes (using dynamics, texture,
ostinatos and pedal notes) help to describe the storyline clearly &
effectively
- Mood music adds to the telling of the story by using
a variety of musical ideas
- In sync with PPT slides
LEVEL 3:
- Clearly-defined sections
- Appropriate themes (using the musical elements of
pitch, rhythm, tempo and insts. & sounds [prg. sounds] ) to successfully
describe the different parts of your story
- Appropriate mood music (with concords and discords)
- Nearly in sync with PPT slides
LEVEL 2:
- Some structure
- Music does not quite tell a story (not narrative
enough) and relies on images
- Use of pitch and sounds to create a mood which fits
with some of the film
- Not in time with your PPT
LEVEL 1:
- No structure
- No story is told; only mood music
- Thought towards pitch and sounds but it needs a more
descriptive effect
- PPT is not completed
